Usually priced at $1,199.99, this Vivobook has now dropped to its lowest-ever price (as we’ll discuss below). It now costs just $949.99, which works out as a 21% discount. The equivalent RTX 3050 model from the previous generation will instead cost you $1,249.99 – so don’t pick the wrong one!

This laptop packs a punch, there’s no doubt about that. It features a high-end Intel Core i9 processor which makes light work of heavy workloads, backed up by fast 16GB DDR5 RAM. The display isn’t the highest resolution you’ll find, buts it’s a full HD screen at an 16:10 aspect ratio, so a little wider than the ‘standard’ 1080p.
RTX 4050 laptops are generally geared for entry-level gaming, but this Vivobook is definitely best suited for productivity due to the high-end processing power. However, the modern graphics card also allows for some gaming on the side, making it a versatile choice. The smooth 120Hz refresh rate benefits the gaming aspect as well for fluid visuals.
Is this RTX 4050 laptop deal good value?
We’d definitely have to say that this Amazon deal delivers good value for money. We always like to do a little bit of research before recommending any discounts, so we checked out the price history. The graph below is courtesy of CamelCamelCamel.
The RTX 4050 ASUS Vivobook 16X has seen some discounts in the past month, but nothing too crazy. The biggest price drop came back during the Black Friday period, but even then it didn’t drop lower than $1,000. Finally we can see it get another significant discount, down to the lowest-ever price. As such, it is excellent value for money – but only for a limited time.
In comparison, the last-gen RTX 3050 model is still at full price, making the RTX 4050 much better value in every way possible – better specs and a better price.
