Next time you’re trying to figure out what that song is you can’t get out of your head you can find out by just humming a few bars. YouTube Music for Android rolled out a new feature this week that allows you to sing, play, or even hum a song to identify what it is.The feature has been in a testing phase since March and just started rolling out to a wider audience. To use it, tap the magnifying glass in the top-right corner of YouTube for Android and then find the waveform icon. Tap that, and then perform the song however you’d like, be it by humming or beside your baby grand.Once YouTube is able to determine what song you’re after based on your musical stylings, it will provide a fullscreen results page that will tell you the name of the song, the artist, and other relevant information like its release year and what album it’s on. The app will also display the cover art for that album.

The feature is available now in version 7.02 of YouTube Music for Android. If the feature sounds familiar, it’s likely because Google rolled out a similar tool to Google Search back in 2020. Traditional YouTube and music streaming app Deezer also offer a hum-to-identify feature.
