I’m a passionate photographer who admires the power of the image and its influence over time. I like to create photographic series that convey emotions and feelings.
I endeavor to invite the viewer to explore them through their stories and characters, highlighted with a subtle touch of humor and poetry.
I create works by drawing inspiration from painting, cinema, and photography.
I have been nominated and published in magazines several times, and my work has been exhibited in international exhibitions, such as those in London, Paris, Athens, Berlin, Monaco, Budapest, Spain, and the US.
When I started photography at around the age of fourteen, I used my parents’ Fujica film camera. Then, I was given a Canon camera, with which I did my first reports.
With the arrival of digital, Sony gradually became ahead of the game with hybrid cameras, so I bought one in the early 2000s. Then, I switched to Canon again with digital SLRs. I got into video and switched to the Sony Alpha A5500 in APSC format.
I moved on to purely studio photography, and the demand for full-frame made me switch to the Sony A7 III and then, last year, to the Sony A7R V.
Sony A7R V – I like its versatility, fast focusing, and full format for my fine art projects. For added utility, I use a handle to hold my two batteries. Its swivel-mounted screen is very practical.
Sony 35mm f/1.8 – I use this lens mainly when I need a large aperture, and its small size is also a plus. I also like this focal length, which reminds me of reportage outings.
Sony 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS – I love this focal length for portraits, as its aperture allows me to manage the bokeh. It remains one of my favourites, and the macro mode can be an asset for very close-up shots.
Sony 20-70mm f/4 – I bought this lens mainly to shoot wider studio shots. It’s very practical, and the F4 aperture doesn’t bother me because I mainly use flashes. I sold my 55mm to have just one lens. The wide angle is really very interesting when you’re looking for other ways of shooting.
Godox AD100 Pro – Godox remains a good value brand, so I invested in the AD Pro game. The Godox AD100 Pro is as big as a can! So, it’s very portable, which allows me to place this light in the studio easily.
The lightweight bag also allows me to use it for corporate portraits. The range of magnetic accessories (bare door, honeycomb, etc.) is a real plus.
Godox AD300 Pro – For the same reasons, for the weight and 300W power range as the featherweight. I also love the fine-tuning possible.
Godox AD600 Pro – is much heavier and a little bulkier, but it has a very good 600W power output and is easy to adjust. I love using it as my main source.
Godox SL300 RGB – provides continuous light that I use with gobos to create shapes and mixed lights. This torch’s built-in colors are a real plus. I also have another Godox S30 Torch and Godox LED Tubes for my long-pause effects.
I have several bags for my equipment, including a Think Tank Urban Access Backpack 15L bag for my camera, lenses, and laptop and the Profoto Backpack bag to store my flashes when I’m on the go.
I also have a Pelican Air Case 1615, which is exceptional. I store all my flashes and accessories safely inside. It is solid, practical, and waterproof, and I’d recommend it.
I use an aluminum tripod with a K & C swivel, which allows me to manage the shooting in the studio. I also use many C-STAND giraffe studio stands and lightweight Godox stands for traveling.
Apple MacBook – I do tethered photography in the studio, and the MacBook is a sure bet. I love Apple’s ecosystem and its reliability. The cable used is Tether Tools, reliable and fast, with a length of four meters, it’s the perfect combo.
Wacom Tablet – I find the use of this tablet essential for post-production and image manipulation on the Mac.
Sandisk Extreme SD Card x 4 – So quick, so small, fast, and solid backup.
Capture ONE – The best software for working online. Great for fine-tuning and, above all, a tool designed for photographers.
Photoshop – I use it for advanced post-production, a tool that needs no introduction.
Elixxier – For 3D studio project preparation, these are simply amazing tools to prepare your project and simulate a studio shoot. Elixxier is just amazing software!
I always ask my wife to help me with project creation, and I realize teamwork is mandatory. My daughter is an incredible model who participates in the final result.
