SpaceX is now selling refurbished Starlink dishes to US consumers for $399.The option is available now on Starlink.com, which shows the refurbished dish as an option alongside the standard $599 dish. Interestingly, SpaceX is selling refurbished versions of its newest V4 standard dish, which it started offering on an invite-only basis in November, before expanding sales to all US consumers in January.

“All refurbished kits will have the same devices, function, and warranty as a standard order,” the company says on the order page. On Monday, the official Starlink Twitter/X account also started displaying ads for the refurbished dishes. It’s rare for SpaceX to offer discounts on Starlink in the US, where demand for the satellite internet service is high. However, the company has been selling refurbished dishes in other markets, such as Australia, the UK, and across Europe. A support document from SpaceX adds that the company only sells the refurbished dishes in “select states within the US” exclusively to consumers rather than business users. The company kicked off sales on Thursday and says they’ll continue while supplies last.

The sales might appeal to anyone looking to try Starlink’s newest hardware. According to early users, the V4 dish offers consistently higher speeds and better upload rates over older dish models. The new V4 dish also comes with the company’s Wi-Fi 6 router.

This appears to be the first time SpaceX is openly selling refurbished Starlink dishes to users. In the past, some buyers have claimed the company sent them refurbished units without telling them, citing the quality of the packaging or the hardware. In a support document, SpaceX refuted those claims. “We can assure you all Starlinks are shipped brand new, unless specifically stated in a support ticket interaction with Starlink Customer Support that you have been sent a refurbished dish.”
