Speed demon with a new stacked sensor

After the teaser for the Nikon Z 6 III, the company has now officially announced the latest addition to its popular Z-series lineup. This camera is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the Z 6 II ($1,596.95), offering a new sensor and some perks that go with it. So, let’s see what Nikon brings to the table with its latest mirrorless camera.

What’s new?

The Z 6 III boasts a 24.5MP partially stacked CMOS sensor, which is a first for Nikon. This design delivers significant improvements in speed and performance, including faster autofocus, quicker continuous shooting rates (up to 60 fps), and smoother electronic viewfinder performance.

Building upon the capabilities of the Z9 and Z8, the Z 6 III features a vastly improved autofocus system. It supports low-light AF down to -10 EV and offers subject detection for various subjects, including people and animals.

The Z 6 III also shines in the video department. It’s capable of internal recording at up to 6K60p in raw format. This makes it a compelling option for content creators who require high-quality footage for professional use.

The Z 6 III features a robust build with a side-opening vari-angle touchscreen LCD. The electronic viewfinder boasts a high resolution (5.76 million dots) and impressive peak brightness (4000 nits). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C, and dual memory card slots.
