Proton Drive Introduces Secure Photo Backup For IOS Users

Proton, the company behind some of the best password managers and VPN services, has just launched a new secure photo backup service for iOS with Proton Drive.
After successfully launching a similar service for Android users last year, they’ve extended the same high level of security to Apple users, using end-to-end encryption to keep your photos safe before uploading.
Proton Drive for iOS is packed with features including cross-device access, private and secure backup, a super easy setup, offline access, and enhanced security. This means that in the event that the Proton Drive is compromised, your images remain safe and you can backup and retrieve them from any device.

Anant Vijay Singh, the Product Management Lead at Proton, put it nicely. He said that Proton Drive’s end-to-end encryption ensures your private photos remain secure even if something goes wrong. Plus, Proton Drive doesn’t just offer a regular backup—it keeps your photos in their original quality, so they’re as good as the day you took them.

The new feature is gradually being rolled out, so if you don’t see it right away it should be available by the end of the week.
Proton made this announcement in a blog post, emphasizing that, in contrast to other cloud storage companies who could merely regard your images as data to commercialize, they perceive your photos as priceless memories that deserve safe preservation.
Proton Drive’s new photo backup service includes an “Available offline” mode where you can still view your photos when offline all while keeping them encrypted.
Regarding storage capacities, Proton Drive provides a Complimentary plan that comes with 5 GB of storage. If you need more space you can upgrade to either the Basic Plan that gives you 200 GB for $4/month or the Unlimited Plan that offers 500 GB for $10/month with access to other Proton services like Proton Mail and Proton VPN.
Proton’s steadfast dedication to security and privacy sets them apart from other cloud storage companies. They prioritize the use of end-to-end encryption for both files and metadata, ensuring that your data is fully protected.
