From the Publisher
Hey there! Thinking about electric cars? Do I have a book for you!
Most of what’s in the book springs from the everyday conversations I’ve had with car shoppers over the past several years, many who ask similar questions when starting those conversations. (You might even call these questions Frequently Asked). Questions like:
How long does it take to charge?
About 8 seconds, depending on how long the walk is from the charging cable to the car.
Beyond that, how long it takes to put elections in a battery pack depends on whether charging as Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 speeds. I’ve got a whole chapter that discusses charging in great, fascinating detail.
Will the grid be able to handle electric cars? EVs will collapse the power grid, won’t they?
That’s two questions, and the answers are yes to the first, no to the second. I share the (many) reasons why in the book.
So, what’s so great about EVs anyway?
Well, there’s cost savings, safety, ease of fueling, driving dynamics, better tech, planetary impact… I mean, how long do you have? It took me 384 pages to discuss these reasons and much more, including fun sidebars about Norwegian bands and CBS Sunday Morning contributors. You just gotta read it to fully answer that last FAQ.
